About this scheme
The Bursary Award scheme lets Screen Ireland fund Irish screen-industry professionals to access skills development opportunities not available in Ireland, either in person abroad or online. Three types of bursary are offered: funding to attend full-time courses/workshops abroad, funding for a structured work placement within an international company or organisation, and funding to participate in a substantial international online skills development programme. Past recipients have accessed programmes such as EAVE, ACE Producers, Inside Pictures, and Eurodoc. The award covers up to 70% of course fees, travel (flights only), and accommodation costs, capped at €5,000. Payment is staged: 75% is paid within 30 days of a successful decision, with the final 25% released once a Reflective Piece and evidence of satisfactory course completion are submitted. Applicants may apply pending acceptance onto a programme but must provide proof of acceptance, evidence of fee payment, and a final cost report to draw down funds. Screen Ireland supports up to two places on any one programme concurrently.
