About this scheme

International Publicity Support funds publicity activity around the World or International Premiere of Screen Ireland-supported live action, animation, or documentary feature films at major A-list festivals. Base support is up to €5,000 per film. Projects that have also received Fiction: Irish Production or Documentary Production: Feature Film funding can qualify for an additional €5,000 toward early-stage online promotional marketing assets, but only when accepted into a defined top-tier festival list. A second tier of festivals qualifies projects for base support only. Films selected by festivals outside these lists may exceptionally be considered, subject to prior approval from Screen Ireland's marketing team. Applications must be submitted 4-6 weeks before the festival start date for full funding approval, and must include a festival acceptance letter, publicist biography/CV and signed contract, publicity strategy/budget outline, press notes, and a completed application form. The engaged publicist must be pre-approved by Screen Ireland and have relevant experience with the specific festival. Funding is drawn down at 100% on submission of a marketing activity report, press clippings, and invoices.

  • Applications must be received 4-6 weeks prior to the festival start date to be approved for full funding
  • The publicist engaged must be approved by Screen Ireland and have relevant publicity experience with the particular festival
  • The additional €5,000 for marketing assets is available only to projects in receipt of Fiction: Irish Production funding or Documentary Production: Feature Film funding, and only for the top-tier festival list (e.g. Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, Toronto, Venice, SXSW, Tribeca, BFI London, Locarno, Telluride)
