About this scheme

Get Exporting is an export development programme aimed at Irish manufacturing and internationally traded services companies working toward their first export sales or expansion into new international markets. It uses a blended learning model: an on-demand digital content library and templates, in-person workshops and live webinars, and one-to-one support from an export advisor and market specialist, typically running six to eight months depending on the business's export readiness.

The programme helps participants assess their international sales readiness, identify and research target export markets, adapt their value proposition for international buyers, build a specific sales and marketing plan, and implement that strategy with a focus on the resources needed to succeed. Food and drink businesses are currently directed to InterTradeIreland or Bord Bia instead, depending on target market. The programme has no fixed start dates.

Who can apply

  • Must be an Irish manufacturing or internationally traded services company
  • Must have less than €10,000 in export sales per annum in Northern Ireland or any other international market
  • Requires a commitment from the CEO and/or a member of the senior leadership team
  • Not currently open to food and drink businesses (Irish food and drink businesses seeking Northern Ireland market entry support should contact InterTradeIreland, minimum turnover €116,000; for other regions, contact Bord Bia, minimum turnover €750,000)
  • Businesses registered and based in Northern Ireland apply directly to InterTradeIreland instead of this programme
  • Full eligibility criteria are detailed in a separate Enterprise Ireland eligibility document linked from the page
