Pumps Grant for Business

SEAI's Pumps Grant for Business offers up to 30% funding, to a maximum of €10,000, towards replacing existing constant-speed pumps with modern variable-speed pumps across heating, cooling, hot water, mains water and cold water systems. It is open to all businesses, the agricultural sector, public sector bodies, community groups and charities looking to cut energy use and running costs.

About this scheme

The Pumps Grant for Business supports the replacement of constant-speed pumps, used across a building's heating, cooling, hot water, mains water and cold water systems, with modern pumps that operate to the actual needs of the system. Pumps run longer and harder than most other building system components, so efficiency gains here can be significant: reducing a pump's flow rate by 20% can cut its energy requirement by around 50%, and installing Variable Speed Drive pumps can generate savings even without reducing flow rate. The grant covers up to 30% of the cost of this work, to a maximum of €10,000, with the exact value depending on building type, size, and technical selections. A separate application can be made for each system type, so businesses can replace pumps on a phased basis, with savings from one upgrade potentially helping finance the next.

How to apply

Register on the SEAI Application Portal (returning businesses can log in with their existing username and password).
Select 'Business Energy Upgrades' from the drop-down list.
Follow the application steps; there is no requirement for documentary upload or a review process at this stage.
On submitting the application, an automated 'Letter of Offer' is received within minutes.
The applicant is free to start the works immediately.
