About this scheme

The Feasibility Study Grant, part of Údarás na Gaeltachta's Pre-Startup & Early Phase Development Supports, helps promoters assess the viability of a business idea, covering own labour, consultancy fees (design and legal), technical development/prototype/innovation costs, market research to validate the proposition, and miscellaneous costs such as travel and subsistence. Grants range from €15,000 up to €30,000 depending on applicant type, across three tiers: a standard business/private promoter rate, a higher rate for High Potential Start-Ups, and a blended rate for community/voluntary sector projects. Unlike most other schemes in this document, it is open broadly to community groups, organisations, businesses and individuals, with no stated sector, staff, or turnover restriction. As with other schemes, the grant is paid on receipt of a valid claim supported by documentation confirming that all grant conditions were met and approved expenditure was paid.
