About this scheme
The Training Grant, part of Údarás na Gaeltachta's Employment & Training Supports, helps businesses that are developing, diversifying or expanding meet the resulting requirement for new skills and expertise, by funding training or retraining programmes for employees. Training can be delivered either in-house by a suitably qualified staff member or by an external trainer. Eligible costs cover trainers' personnel time, trainers' and trainees' project-related operating costs (travel, materials, tool/equipment depreciation), advisory services linked to the project, and trainees' personnel and indirect costs (administration, rent, overheads); trainee accommodation is generally excluded, aside from minimum necessary costs for trainees with disabilities. The base aid intensity is 50% of eligible costs, rising in combination for training targeted at disabled/disadvantaged workers or smaller enterprises, up to an overall maximum of 70%. No fixed maximum grant euro amount is stated on the page. As with other schemes, payment is made on receipt of a valid claim supported by documentation confirming that all grant conditions were met and approved expenditure was paid.
